During the Long Night of Science 2025 in Nuremberg, the Siemens Power Academy opened its doors to show how learning in the energy sector will look in the future. Among the participants was the Munich-based innovation company Visoric GmbH, which, together with Siemens, developed the immersive learning platform LearnErgy – The 3D Virtual Energy Supply World.

LearnErgy transforms complex energy processes into interactive, tangible experiences. Visitors were able to dive into a virtual energy world that makes the generation, distribution, and sustainable use of electricity come alive. What was once abstract in textbooks becomes visible in space – energy becomes tangible.

From Vision to Reality

The idea for LearnErgy was born from a clear goal: not just to convey knowledge but to make it truly experienceable. In close collaboration with the team from the Siemens Power Academy and Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Visoric developed an immersive learning system that unites technology, sustainability, and digitalization.

LearnErgy is based on the XR Stager® Spatial Development Platform developed by Visoric – software that combines real data, real-time 3D, and interactive scenarios. This allows complex energy processes to be visually simulated and intuitively understood.

  • Complex energy processes become experienceable in 3D
  • Learners interactively explore power generation, distribution, and grid control
  • Real data is visualized and explained in real time

The immersive system shows how theoretical knowledge turns into practical experience. Participants control energy flows, observe reactions, and learn through action. The result: a more sustainable and emotional understanding of tomorrow’s energy supply.

Making Energy an Experience

In the virtual world of LearnErgy, visitors can see how electricity is generated, flows through power lines, and controls smart grids. From the wind turbine to the smart grid – every element can be explored.

The platform uses 3D visualization to make abstract processes visible. Physical processes become experiences that learners grasp intuitively. Instead of numbers and formulas, movement, color, and dynamics take center stage.

  • Energy flows can be observed realistically
  • Interactive simulations foster sustainable understanding
  • The virtual environment shows the connections from generation to consumption

The energy supply of the future becomes an immersive space here. LearnErgy shows how electricity flows, how grids respond, and how sustainability becomes practically experienceable – a learning format that makes knowledge visible and emotion tangible.

Collaboration with Siemens Smart Infrastructure

The project was realized in collaboration with Dr.-Ing. Pedro Moreno and the team from the Siemens Power Academy. Their goal: to connect education, technology, and sustainability in order to build energy competence for the future.

By combining technological know-how and immersive visualization, a learning world was created that fascinates professionals, students, and visitors alike.

  • Collaboration between Siemens Power Academy and Visoric GmbH
  • Integration of real energy data into the virtual world
  • Development of a scalable learning system for education and industry

The result of this partnership is an example of successful digitalization in education: knowledge is not explained but experienced. Technology becomes the medium that brings emotion to learning.

Learning with All Senses

One of the most fascinating aspects of LearnErgy is its multisensory approach: participants experience electricity not just visually but as a dynamic system that reacts to their interactions.

From controlling the flow of energy to simulating grid behavior – every action changes the environment and makes energy perceptible.

  • Learning through interaction and observation
  • Virtual energy processes react in real time
  • Motivation and learning success measurably increase

The XR Stager platform makes 3D Extended Reality easy to use – conveniently through a web browser and on all leading devices such as AR glasses, VR headsets, smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop systems.

LearnErgy in Video

The official event video captures the excitement of visitors who immersed themselves in the virtual energy world that evening. It shows how people experience the platform, interact with it, and understand how energy works.

The Team Behind LearnErgy

At the end of the evening, the Visoric team stood together with their colleagues from the Siemens Power Academy in front of the LearnErgy world projection – visibly proud of what they had created together.

Ulrich Buckenlei and Nataliya Daniltseva represented Visoric as partners in this innovative collaboration. Their work demonstrates how technology and education can merge into a new learning experience.

  • Interdisciplinary team from development, design, and education
  • Focus on immersive learning technologies and real-time visualization
  • Implemented in partnership with Siemens Smart Infrastructure
